Elections Updates (2)
Update or post an Update? That is the question! Well, I have been updating twice in two days my Italian Elections 2006 (4) post, now I think it’s time to post an Update. Here it is.
> On the war of words between Confindustria (Italy’s employers’ association) and Berlusconi there is an International Herald Tribune report by Eric Sylvers.
> On the case of Italian Parliamentary Relations Minister Carlo Giovanardi, who branded on Friday the laws that regulate euthanasia in Holland as akin to the policies of Adolf Hitler and the Nazis, there is the following statement by Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi:
(AGI) – Rome, March 21 – Minister Giovanardi "expressed his personal opinion" said PM Silvio Berlusconi, commenting the diplomatic incident with the Netherlands, following the words uttered by Giovanardi on euthanasia. Berluscon pointed out that, with the current system, a PM "cannot send off a minister", that’s why – he said on Sky Tg24 – "we have reformed the constitution to grant more power to the PM in changing a single minister. That will be possible as of 2011".
